PopYum: How did you feel the day you became a mom for the first time?
Yasmeen: The day I became a new mom I felt very excited to meet my baby and was ready for any obstacle to come my way. I was determined to bear and have my child and prepared a nursery upon his arrival.
PopYum: How did you discover PopYum?
Yasmeen: I discovered PopYum when a free box of Enfamil samples, coupons, and gift cards was delivered to my home with 3 different kinds of powdered flavors in the box that had a PopYum flier with a barcode on it.
PopYum: What’s your favorite thing about PopYum?
Yasmeen: My favorite thing about PopYum is that the nipple of the bottle is shaped just like breasts. My son is a boobie boy who loves his breast milk! As for the bottle I get to do both with giving my nipples a break and my baby never gets to feel hungry or have to wait for a bottle because it is already prepared.
PopYum: What is your favorite part about becoming a mom?
Yasmeen: My favorite part about becoming a mom is building my own family and foundation. Ever since the death of my mother, I always wanted to become a mother so that I can be there for my children.
PopYum: Tell us about your baby!
Yasmeen: My 11 week old baby is very attentive and militant. He has an Arabic name and is named after one of our fallen Navy veterans who did so much for our country, protected, and served. May he rest in peace for my son and family will be proud.
PopYum: Tell us about you!
Yasmeen: I am a registered democrat who is an entrepreneur and fashion designer. Maybe one day I can run for something and focus mainly on Women's RIGHTS!!! Right now I am studying criminal justice towards my bachelor’s degree. I want to protect and serve the globe followed by my brothers.
PopYum: What do you like to do for fun?
Yasmeen: I like to design fashion and come up with innovative social ideas. Like Bob Proctor said - “Create Your Own Economy!” May he rest in peace!
PopYum: How do you find ‘me-time’ while raising your kids?
Yasmeen: The only ‘me-time’ I have is when they are sleeping or spending time with daddy! I travel with my kids which I consider my time as well.
PopYum: Do you have anything else about yourself, your family, your kids, or anything else that you’d like to share with PopYum friends and family?
Yasmeen: I am a part of a Womens’ Relief Society of Hermana’s! I am well involved in my community in flushing Queens, New York. Reading a book to your child all the time helps them to continue talking at an early age as well as reading a biblical verse everyday helps within our vocabulary as adults.
PopYum: Do you have any “mom hacks” or cool tips or tricks you’d like to share with the rest of PopYum Nation?
Yasmeen: One of the oldest traditions I can share in a mom hack is taking a piece of string from apparel, putting it in your mouth, taking it out, shaping it into a circle on your baby’s forehead & leaving it there to stop hiccups. Also instead of patting the babies back, because the babies body is so small, it’s better to rub their back in a circular motion to help them burp quicker.
