PopYum: How did you feel the day you became a mom for the first time?

Dianna: Because Malachi was born very prematurely, I was shocked but so excited to meet him! It honestly took a few days for it to sink in since he came 16 weeks too early. I wasn't expecting him for quite a while, so I had very little prepared for him.

PopYum: How did you discover PopYum?

Dianna: I found PopYum on Amazon.

PopYum: What tips would you give to a first time parent that you wish you knew when you had your first baby?

Dianna: Everyone is going to have an opinion. The only opinion that matters is yours. Take pictures of everything and anything!

PopYum: What do you think is the most challenging part of being a mom?

Dianna: The most challenging part of being a mom is feeling like you are never doing enough for your child. Especially as a working mom, I feel like I never spend enough time with Malachi. When I do spend time with him after work I am usually exhausted so he doesn't always get the best version of me.

PopYum: What’s your favorite thing about PopYum?

Dianna: I love how there is no other bottle that even compares to PopYum! I have never seen a bottle that can store and dispense formula quite like PopYum bottles. These are a game changer when it comes to being out and about!

PopYum: What is your favorite part about becoming a mom?

Dianna: My favorite part about becoming a mom so far has been watching my baby grow. Because he was born prematurely, we have had 16 extra weeks to bond with him, love him and also see him develop! My favorite moments so far have been when he started to recognize my face and my voice. Also, being able to make my baby smile and laugh just by talking to him is truly the best feeling.

PopYum: Tell us about Malachi!

Dianna: Malachi, or Kai for short, is now 7 months old. However, because he was born prematurely he is 3 months adjusted which just means he is 3 months from his due date. He is basically a 7 month old in a 3-month old body. Immediately after birth he was admitted to the hospital and was in the NICU for 127 days. Since day 1 he has been a fighter. He has gone through so many exams, was on a ventilator for a few weeks and had several blood transfusions while he was in the hospital. Through it all though Malachi has shown us that nothing is going to stop him. He is the strongest, most determined baby I've ever met! He loves to smile and loves music too.

PopYum: Tell us about you! What are your passions, talents, etc.?

Dianna: When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my family and teaching Malachi new things. I'd say we spend most of our time together singing while I make up songs about absolutely nothing.

PopYum: What do you like to do for fun?

Dianna: I'm from San Diego so I love going to the beach or any large body of water. When I am not at the beach I enjoy being creative, watching TV, shopping and eating delicious food.

PopYum: How do you find ‘me-time’ while raising your kids?

Dianna: I put "me-time" into my schedule whenever I can, even if it means that there are dirty dishes in my sink or trash that needs to be taken out. Some things are more important to me than having a sparkly clean house.

PopYum: Do you have anything else about yourself, your family, your kids, or anything else that you’d like to share with PopYum friends and family?

Dianna: I have gone through a premature birth, as well as infertility and IVF. So if you need any support or just an ear to listen about any of those things please reach out to me on Instagram. I know how isolating the journey can be, but it doesn't have to be!

PopYum: Do you have any “mom hacks” or cool tips or tricks you’d like to share with the rest of PopYum Nation?

Dianna: You can never have enough swaddle blankets! I use them for everything from swaddles, burp cloths, car seat covers, and more.
